Summary/Abstract: The aim of this analysis is to demonstrate literary similarities between Ion Budai‑Deleanu, Ţiganiada and Giovanni Boccaccio, Decameron. The playful identity of the authors emphasises the most important symptoms of the protest against the rigid aspects of medieval mentality. On the other hand, the parody as literary genre achieves its critical potential through the playful dimension of the both texts examined.
