Summary/Abstract: The article discusses the stylistic, linguistic and compositional peculiarities of the description of Constantinople, one of the most highly-prized by specialists parts of the Viaggio di Negroponte by Giovanni Maria Angiolello. On the basis of the analysis made, the author arrives at the conclusion that, just like his famous Historia Turchesca, is a composite work which, along with his personal impressions and observations, refers to texts and borrows some themes on “matters Turkish” (delle cose de’ Turchi). The individual parts of the Viaggio di Negroponte were compiled at different times. The author dates the description of Constantinople after 1478. The article uses unpublished variants of the Historia Turchesca kept at the civic museum of Venice, Museo Correr, and designated as Ms. Cicogna 2761 and Ms. Correr 1328. An attachment provides a translation of the description of Constantinople in Bulgarian translation.
