Summary/Abstract: The word “blog“ is ten years old. The term “weblog“ meaning a network diary emerged in 1997, and two years later was abbreviated to “we blog“. The difference bewteen “classical” form of diary and the blog is in different course of reception, and the hypertextual blog character. Contrary to classical diary, blog entries are read in chronologically opposite sequence and are internally and externally connected to other digital documents. The blog emerged as a valve of individual expression in times od mass and system domination, of the unrestrained in the strictly regulated environment, and instantenious and authontic voice of individuality addressed to others in circumstances of increasing and more subtle media manipulation. In accomplishment of blog as a new literary and communication form, a permanent ambivalence is apparent – between individual and private, free and anarchic, and communicative and shallow.
