Summary/Abstract: If Platon was upset that people leaned on their own convictions about virtues without seeking knowledge, present resident of global pseudo-polis is obsessed by simulated information, pictures and convictions, which create social consciousness with their hyper- -production. In shadow of mass-media’s caves, contours of transformed democracy can be seen. This democracy is more and more exposed to the interests of mega-corporations, dominant geopolitical influence, cultural determinism, and redefined fundamentalism. Under such circumstances, to some lonely individual, “in Athens’ Agora”, is even more difficult to form and keep his/her own opinion, ideas and values, because irascible, overbearing, and uniformed “army” of technologically perfect communication tools, making the deafening roar of the fairy tale about equality, peace, and multiculturalism, cover up the more and more frequent conflicts of cultures and civilizations. It seems that programmatically uniformed society, misses the need for inner critical analysis, due to living in the middle of high tide of arriving and leaving messages, spins vision of new order. Info-space is covered by global network of information and facts, the machines took over the process of symbolic exchange from humans. Instead of renaissance of ideas, a renaissance of technology is offered, which skilled “helmsmen” use to direct the “world arc” to rocks of something we can call pseudo-polis. Freedom of speech in media is the air of open, public communication, the pillar of democratic structures, but problem is that the watchmen of “information-gates” are still standing guard, but this time in front of cyber spaces. History shows that in such a process names of losers are always known, while others are always less known and sought for much longer.
