Summary/Abstract: In modern times, disability has become not only a medical and psychological problem, but also a social one. More and more people in the world are becoming people with disabilities. This state of affairs requires care for the rights of persons with disabilities in the same way as for the rights of every human being. Unfortunately, simply establishing the law is not enough to normalize the lives of people with disabilities. Changes in social attitudes are necessary because they are conditioned by prejudices and, above all, by the lack of reliable knowledge. The normalization of life of people with disabilities is based on the assumption of full participation in all life trends. However, the law does not guarantee changes in the human mentality. Therefore, a joint effort of specialists of different disciplines and the good will of all people is needed to normalize the situation of people with disabilities.
