Summary/Abstract: In this article we are going through the history of creation of National Symphony Or- chestra of Ukraine. The dates of the totalitarian era and slump period, proposed by musi- cologists, are analyzed and it is demonstrated that the Orchestra was created be the gov- ernment of Hetman Skoropadsky in 1918. We reconstruct separate features of the cultural politics of the Ukrainian State (Ukrainska Derzhava); defining the pre-requisites of a sepa- rate Symphony Orchestra; characterizing musicians and cultural workers that were in- volved in creation of the orchestra.
