Summary/Abstract: Subject of the article is the question of whether and to what extent patterns of traditional antiimperialist reasoning can be applied to a situation in which statecentered imperialisms are still relevant today, but also a supra-state conglomerate of international organizations, regimes and judicial constitutions is slowly coming into being. Transferable from old anti-imperialism to a critique of this new supra-state variant of empire is its extraterritorial perspective and its willingness not to consider axioms of imperial politics and certain directions of global political development to be without alternative.
