Integrated project activity: Protecting nature

Summary/Abstract: Ecology is one of the domains which caught the interest of everyone in the last years. Positive behaviors can be enhanced since childhood in family and at the kindergarten at the same time. This project shows how we can encourage children to have a positive behavior regarding the environment and what are the negative actions and effects which have to be avoided. The lesson project Let’s protect the nature is planned for preschoolers of 4–5 years old, within the Domain Human and Society where children should learn about the environment and the relationships between human beings and everything that surrounds them. The activities developed in the lesson plan involve children in apprehending how they can protect or destroy the environment. Each step of the way the preschoolers are engaged in a game in which they have to choose pictures that describe positive or negative environmental actions, they have to glue up images in two distinctive albums (pro nature and against it) and a worksheet that covers the whole activity. The results of this kind of activities can be observed throughout the entire year making several activities for protecting the environment
