Summary/Abstract: The reform of the Church initiated by the Second Vatican Council cannot be equivalent to the change in society dictated by the intellectual development or civilizational progress. The article focuses on the foundation of an authentic reform that touches upon the faith of Christians that, requires continuous deepening and purification and leads to freedom. Subsequently, this freedom with the guidance of the Holy Spirit prompts the faithful to service and forgiveness. The main motive of the Church’s ongoing reform is the salvation of her believers. Therefore, the reform will reach its goals when a great number of the Church’s members, according to God’s plan, will achieve perfect communion with God.
