Summary/Abstract: Aggression is one of the serious social problems because it may have many negative consequences for the victim, perpetrator, and witness. The aggressiveness of the employees whose professional role by definition requires helping others may particularly affect social relations. So, it is crucial to ask what level of aggressiveness is characteristic for students who will work for the benefit of other people in the future. The article presents the results of research aimed at determining the level of aggressiveness of psychology students. Collected characteristics of potential psychologists were confronted with respondents' retrospective assessment of the parental attitudes of their mothers and fathers to identify possible links between those two factors. The family environment plays a crucial role in regulating the functioning of children and youth. In the study, it was examined if, and to what extent, experiencing negative parental attitudes, such as rejection, inconsistencies, excessive protection, and excessive requirements, increases the aggressiveness. And reversely, whether the feeling of autonomy and acceptance coincides with the lower intensity of that feature. The results indicate the particular importance of mothers' inconsistent attitudes and excessive fathers' requirements for the aggressiveness of academic youth taking up studies to become a psychologist.
