Summary/Abstract: The article first presents a new perspective in human resource management – concentration on human capital. It then profiles knowledge workers and attributes of their profession. The main part of the paper discusses a number of instruments involved in motivating knowledge workers. These tools help create a professional’s optimal comfort zone – a work environment that is congruent with their needs and expectations.
