Summary/Abstract: The present contribution is the first in a row to provide a critical edition based on all available text witnesses of a part of the Greek text collection known as Soterios. Being the Greek model of the so-called Florilegium of Symeon – translated between 914 and 927 at the command of Tsar Symeon I of Bulgaria, with the Izbornik of 1073 as its most famous witness – the Soterios has long remained in the shadow of its early Slavonic translation. The part of the text presented here is quaestio 10 (an expanded version of Anastasius Sinaita’s quaestio 73), taken from the second and central part of the Soterios, viz. the core of 88 ἐρωταποκρίσεις, and it deals with the contradiction of sinners that are apparently loved and blessed by God. The critical text has been supplied with an apparatus fontium et locorum parallelorum and deviation from the sources is marked in an apparatus collationum fontium. Moreover, the Greek variant readings have been checked against the two existing Slavonic translations, viz. not only the Florilegium of Symeon (Slav1) but also the 14th century translation solely attested in cod. Berolinensis Wuk 45 (Slav2).
