Summary/Abstract: The Anthropocene presents many challenges, especially when it comes to our relations with the nonhuman (an)other. How are we to come to terms with this ethically, as we are told we are facing a possible sixth extinction that also includes our own species? This essay faces this question by drawing on the recent work on indigeneity, and further extends these insights through the philosophy of Deleuze and Guattari, especially their idea of ‘becoming-world.’ I develop what I take to be the figure of the ‘contemporary sorcerer’ to make my own contribution to this important problematic.
