The Role of Foreign Direct Investment in the Development of Polish Economic Relations with Other Countries in the Years 2004–2009

Summary/Abstract: This article discusses the role of foreign direct investment in the evolution of Poland’s international economic relations in the period 2004–2009. Based on statistics on the balance of payments, the volume and basic forms of international cooperation are presented. The article analyses the theory behind how FDI inflow influences foreign trade turnover for the host country, then looks at the Polish economy in particular.
