Summary/Abstract: Participatory budgeting, known in the world for decades, arised lately wide application among Polish cities. After four years, since it was introduced in Sopot in 2011 it is high time to give it the second thought and consider how does it reflect the shape to the cities and it’s districts. Based on consultation with citizens of Katowice who put their own ideas on votes since it was established there two years ago, this paper tries to diagnose threats and misconducts among participatory budgeting procedure. Despite all the advantages, in present shape, this procedure can be a couse of urban tissue disintegration. Still I considered it as a fruitful tool of social integration and a great way ti hear from the citizens.
