Summary/Abstract: Although the phenomenon of leisure time is increasingly being explored today, domestic literature is deficient in the field of educational practice in boarding schools, especially when it comes to leisure time and leisure activities. This article presents the role of the teacher in organizing leisure time in boarding schools, in order to view leisure time as an important factor in the development of a psychophysically healthy personality. The pedagogical aspect of leisure time was considered theoretically, current content that is represented in the leisure time of young people and emphasis is placed on outdoor activities as a valid way to spend leisure time. Students spend most of their time in boarding school and that is why the role of the teacher in creation, organization and realization of leisure time is important, in order to avoid negative influences and leave young people with negative behaviors and phenomena.
