Summary/Abstract: Since the position of religion during the last decades of the 20th and beginning of the 21st century has been radically altered, and a significant turning point has been made in predicting its future, some of the contemporary philosophers/sociologists have employed the term “post - secular” as the most adequate description of the current state of religion and its relation to cultural, political and general social context. Fully recognizing the return of religion and its determination to enter the public discourse, Habermas speaks of “the future relevance of religion” and its› irreplaceable role, thus insisting on respect for religion as a condition that enables “preserving the essence of humanity”. Both the transformation of a secular consciousness and a global presence of religion indicate a fully new, post-secular perspective in which religion persists as a constitutive and legitimate element of social reality. The central question that the author will deal with in this article is the “future of secularized religion” in a post-secular age.
