Bigamy in the Polish Criminal Law

Summary/Abstract: Bigamy is a crime threatening the regularity of family functioning, whose basis, due to the cultural tradition and Polish law, makes monogamy marriage. In his article the author presents the origin of the bigamy crime and its statutory hallmarks. It is shown who, in what circumstances, and with fulfilling which conditions, can commit bigamy crime, as well as the statistic depiction of the crime has been presented.
