Summary/Abstract: The Long Life of St. Clement is a very important historical source for the significant role played by St. Clement in the conversion of the Bulgarian people to Christianity. Nine manuscripts of the Life are known, in which the text is fully or partially preserved. The first critical edition of the text was made by Fr. Miklosich (1847). It was followed by the editions of N. L. Tunickij, A. Milev, P. Cautier, and others, the latest being that of I. Iliev (1995). In this article I propose six changes for the improvement of the text, concerning myself only with passages which appear problematical in all editions; in only two cases do I examine suggestions proposed by other editors.
