Summary/Abstract: Using the title metaphor of a melting pot to understand school culture, the essay aims to illustrate the various ways of identifying this scientific category and the difficulty in defining it clearly. And it has its consequences in shaping school culture – a process recognized today by such researchers as Terrence Deal, Michael Fullan, Kent Peterson, La Tefy Schoen, Charles Teddie, among others, as the only way of improving the performance of schools in an effective and lasting manner, which translates to students’ educational successes. The goal of this text is to present the perspectives of the researchers analyzing schools through the lens of organization theory, and to explain the essence of shaping school culture in school environments and its support mechanisms.
