Summary/Abstract: Interdisciplinarity covers one of the most important changes in attitude and methodology in the history of education. Interdisciplinarity involves the combining of two or more academic disciplines into one activity. It is about creating something new by crossing boundaries, and thinking across them. Both disciplinarians and interdisciplinarians may be seen in complementary relation to one another. An interdisciplinary study is an academic program or process seeking to synthesize broad perspectives, knowledge, skills, interconnections, and epistemology in an educational setting. In turn, interdisciplinary knowledge and research are important because: 1. Creativity often requires interdisciplinary knowledge. 2. Many intellectual, social, and practical problems require interdisciplinary approaches. 3. Interdisciplinary knowledge and research serve to remind us of the unity-of-knowledge ideal. 4. Interdisciplinarians enjoy greater flexibility in their research.Studies of interdisciplinary educational programs have included evaluations of such factors as awareness/knowledge of roles, shared decision making, attitudes toward collaboration and toward other disciplines. For example, if we take the case of Physics, it is related with Mathematics to a great extend. Mathematical calculations occur at every step in Physics. The laws of motion, friction, expansion of solids, liquid pressure are explained using Mathematics. Biological study depends largely on its branches Bio-Physics and Bio-Chemistry, which have attained a rank almost equal to that of independent Sciences. In Chemistry, all chemical combinations and their equations are governed by certain Mathematical laws.
