Summary/Abstract: According to Osmańczyk, a proxy war defines an armed conflict between states instigated by other parties who do not wish to become directly involved in the hostilities. The article brings forward the relationship between the two countries, mainly their ideological, economical and geopolitical opposition. Also, the article describes the Yemeni conflicts and the Syrian Civil War and deals with the political realignment after the Arab Spring which changed the relationship between Saudi Arabia and Egypt, each seeking new political and economic solutions.
