Summary/Abstract: The success of businesses in the global economic process is possible with effective management of environmental changes. In this context, effective management depends on the effective use of human resources as well as financial and physical resources of businesses. The existence of a determined, satisfied and motivated human resource is an imperative in increasing organizational efficiency and effectiveness, making mission and vision decisions and realizing the goals. For this purpose, the phenomenon of team in organizations today should be seen as a tool to benefit from the synergistic effect of motivated human resources. It is aimed to provide organizational flexibility within the framework of effective leadership understanding and to manage the changing business environment more effectively. Leadership characteristics introduced in this process are decisive. In this study, the concept of teamwork, basic strategies and leadership qualities required for effective team management, which constitute an important part of the modern management process, are theoretically examined.
