Summary/Abstract: The significance of the Viennese Theresianum has been well known for historical science. In the last decade the qualitative research results of Olga Khavanova have directed attention to this outstanding institution. The cultural and educational political interaction of the Imperial and Royal Court and the decision-making elite forms an important part of the problem of the Middle-European enlightened absolutism. This study aims to illuminate this topic from the perspective of scientific representation, and is structured into two major parts. In the first part, the modern disciplines taught at Theresianum is discussed; in the second part I analyze the public sources – periodicals from Austria and from abroad, travel journal and publishings of examinations. My purpose is to direct attention to the scientific reputation of the Viennese noble academy, and the courtly and noble interests behind it.
