Summary/Abstract: The development of geography teaching is related to how geography is taught in schools. For years, learning what, how and why has been a problem faced by researchers in geography. In 1960-1982 Kasim Gul, a professor of physical geography of the Azerbaijani SSR, gave a textbook entitled "Economic Geography of the Azerbaijani SSR". This textbook has been a guide for the development of geography.
