Summary/Abstract: Christian Family and the „Spirit of the Times”. Theological-Anthropological Notes. Based on the analysis of the historic evolution and social changes the model of traditional christian family is called into question. But the sociological, ethical or anthropological analysis presents the family as a social phenomenon detached by its sacrality. This perspective opened the way for the devaluation of the traditional christian family model and expelled it in a drawer of history. Therefore it is necessary to show that the christian understanding of family transcends the different alternatives which are more embedded and adapted to the contemporary social realities. The study analyzes the crisis of the concept of family today from an anthropological point of view. The purpose of the paper is to show that the fidelity to the christian model of family is not a restriction, but a liberation from „the spirit of the times” which generate changes and challenges to the idea of family (i.e. the transition from agrarian society to an industrialized one, the gain of individual freedom, women's empowerment, the economic crisis, etc).
