Summary/Abstract: The aim of our research was to investigate the factors influencing the results of national competence measurements in Romania. Since the measurements are not accompanied by a background questionnaire, we prepared a student questionnaire, which was taken in the course of the national surveys by the 4th grade students of the Covasna county. In our research, we examined the relationship between student efficiency and whether a pupil was in a preparatory class and if the measurement results differ according to parents’ level of education.
