Summary/Abstract: The patient's informed consent to health treatment is the crossroad between individual self-determination, with a function to the pursuit of health, understood as personal psycho-physical well-being and the professional autonomy of the physician in the frame of the limits and prohibitions established by the law. The availability and freedom of the body and on the body are compared with the reasons for protection of collective health, for mandatory health treatments as well as with the values that the legislator believes to be the guardian, prohibiting, prescribing, restrictively regulating or refusing to regulate at all: and the reference is to euthanasia and assisted suicide, surrogate motherhood, abortion and artificial procreation.
