Summary/Abstract: The ethnic writing of Helena Maria Viramontes, Leslie Marmon Silko, and Maxine Hong Kingston offers patterns of the so called “redressive” rituals, the term introduced by the renowned anthropologist Victor Turner. According to this author, redress is the third stage of what he calls “social drama” or a crisis, which tends to be resolved in terms scripted by theatrical and fictional models.
