Summary/Abstract: On the occasion of Dr. Šaćir Sikirić's death marking, the first Bosnian Orientalist of European stamp, this paper presents his life and work. As a long-time teacher of oriental languages, textbooks author, manager of educational institutions, social activist, writer and translator, he left a deep indelible imprint in the time in which he lived. A lasting memorial for people he served to and significant contribution to science for which he yearned. This paper is remembering to the famous Bosniaks whose life and literary opus wait for impartial researcher, as a challenge.
