PRAVOSLAVNA GROBLJA ŽIVINICA I NEKI OD OBIČAJA VEZANI ZA SAHRANJIVANJE NA PODRUČJU ŽIVINICA
ORTHODOX CEMETERIES AND SOME OF CUSTOMS RELATED TO BURIALS IN AREA ŽIVINICE

Summary/Abstract: Ethnographic research in the field ie. visiting the sites of Orthodox cemeteries, and recording the tombstones, collecting information about the sites I could not reach. The main method used in this research is certainly the most popular method in ethnography, which is going into the field, in addition to using all available census data as well as talking to the native population. The aim of the paper is to show clues about the life of Orthodox Serbs in the municipality of Zivinice. My analysis found that the cemeteries were in very poor condition, that most of them were inaccessible due to impassable roads, but also because of the very sites where the graves were located, and that a good part of the valuable monuments were damaged. These cemeteries in the coming period can become very important to researchers, but also to people who are eager to learn about certain aspects of the Serb tradition.
