Summary/Abstract: SummaryThe youth are one of the biggest victims of the consequences during the conflict history in Bosnia and Herzegovina. In the changes and transformations that Bosnia has been faced, they were marginalized. At all levels of government, there is a lack of a program and strategic approach to support the improvement of the position of youth in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The worrying information is that every fourth employed young person works jobs that are completely different from the direction of their own education, which causes significant shortages in the knowledge and skills required to perform the job. Young people with secondary education have very weak perspective in the existing labour market. To a large extent, they do not manage to get jobs for which they were educated. Generally, young people have the greatest perspectives for employment in the informal labour market, on poor quality jobs with weak working conditions, without any security. This is the future for majority of young people. They know it and that awareness have left a long-term negative impact to their mental health, activity, family and social life. Almost every second young person in Bosnia and Herzegovina, who has left the formal education system, has remained at the level of three-year secondary education or lower. This means that we are significantly below the EU average when we consider the proportion of people with completed four-year high school or higher education.Every fourth person in Bosnia and Herzegovina leaves the educational process too early, which is far above the average of most European countries. Financial problems are the main reason for breaking of education, and only 7% of pupils and students receive a scholarship for education, which is in most cases amount of 100 BAM, or not exceeding 200 BAM. As a young person who completes education, as a possible solution to this situation, I see the necessity of Bosnia and Herzegovina's entry into the EU and NATO. The perspective of young people in a country that is oriented towards Euro-Atlantic integration is brighter because more attention is paid to youth-focused programs and projects, increasing employment security, but also the security situation in general. The security situation is also the reason why young people leave Bosnia and Herzegovina disappointed by the impossibility due to political situation. Therefore, the young forces need to show their support, by their knowledge, interest and activism, and emphasize the importance of Bosnia and Herzegovina's membership in the EU through various forms of pressure and demands.
