Summary/Abstract: Following World War I, as a result of the new partitionof Macedonia by force of the Treaty of Neuilly, the nationalliberation struggle of the Macedonian Bulgarians was resumedand headed by the IMRO. The interdiction and the cruel assimilationimposed by Serbia and Greece on the Bulgarianpopulation in Vardar and Aegean Macedonia provoked strongreaction and resistance on part of the IMRO.
