Summary/Abstract: Having a deep insight into Romanian language nature, a word virtuoso, the national poet Mihai Eminescu analyzed the importance of verbal expression in the life of a nation, concluding that the language is „the measure of civilization”. The lexica newest layer, neologisms and the concepts they are codifying, represents the level gauge in maintaining a language. The perpetual lexical enrichment is the result of a flexible mentality that, today, must address properly the challenges of a globalized world.
