Summary/Abstract: On January 1, 1992, USSR disappeared as an international actor. At the same time, the four decades of Cold War ended. It was clear then, at the beginning of the nineties, that the rivalry between USA-USSR would not be prevalent anymore on the world political scene. Less clear, though, was the future development of the new international relations system and the way the relation between the two major actors would evolve.
