Summary/Abstract: This paper aims to present the status quo of early childhood education and care (ECEC) in Bulgaria by presenting its position among the status quo in other EU member states. The analysis is organized around some of the key areas of ECEC which contribute most to achieving quality in all ECEC services, namely: access, workforce, financing and governance.
