Summary/Abstract: In Summer 1686 Polish-Lithuanian army, led by king John III Sobieski, started campaign to capture Moldavia. Amongst other troops, 25 Polish (Crown) winged hussars banners (companies), with total strength of 3580 horses, were present. We can identify 20 of their lieutenants, with majority of them being professional officers with long service records. Their experience and social standing was good determinant of the quality of the units that they led.
