Summary/Abstract: The paper discusses the work of an almost unknown writer Julian Kurtz (1828–1873). It was an original attempt to answer the question of the compatibility of Platonism and Christianity. Its originality consisted in the fact that it involved August Cieszkowski’s post-Hegelian philosophy of history, in its context Plato was interpreted as the sign of Christianity which was yet to come.
