Summary/Abstract: At the time of the original communities, when the most powerful instinct amongst humans was the instinct for survival, a man realized that he had a better chance if he joined one of the groups or tribes in which he lived at that time. Thus, despite fear for their lives, people were forced to communicate unconsciously using all channels of non-verbal communication. One of these channels is the interpersonal distance, that is the personal space. Personal space is determined by its factors, it performs functions that no other human mechanism performs and is marked by its bounds. When humans satisfied all their needs, then the faith appeared, that is the human need for belief. This gave rise to today's religions and religiosity, and it occurs when the physiological needs are met. Religion and religiousness as a need ranks among the need for security and they are best manifested in people in desperate, dire, and in situations of general disaster, such as the loss of loved ones for example.
