Summary/Abstract: The tenets of liberal humanism underpin most of E. M. Forster’s work. My article is a sketchy review of some of the writings where this is present, from the early titles to ‘A Passage to India’- the classic account of the clash of cultures in British India in the first years of the twentieth century.
