Summary/Abstract: In terms of democratic principles legitimization of political authorities in essential moments, the Constitution of Bosnia and Herzegovina is deprived of civilization achievements of western modernization. The temporary type of legality of the existing legal and political order is based upon the need to establish peace, and from that standpoint it is justified, but it’s necessary to upgrade the legitimization of political institutions in terms of rights, interests and expectations of citizens. The article discusses the fundamental theoretical principles of liberal democratic legitimacy of the authorities, legal, political and social aspects of the crisis of the legitimacy of the authorities and political order in Bosnia and Herzegovina. This article elaborates the necessity of the relegation of the political and legal order which would constitute the state, the liberal - democratic institutions on the basis of civic principles, and in the sphere of the state to respect the identity differences and the multi-national plurality of the Bosnian and Herzegovinian society.
