Summary/Abstract: The mysterious relations between the East and the West were determined by strait fear of the Turks - the conquerors, and in the core of relationship between Martin Luther and Christopher Columbus – was the fear of the Muslim Turks. Today, this co-existence can be analysed into an interesting phenomenon called image creation. Western perception of Islam is created by the media, by academic research, lobbyists, the film industry and literary works, and political statements. This new image can often be and become false, falsified, with very bad intentions. Additionally, it becomes loaded because the public opinion is not built on reality and on the reality of existence. Therefore it is important to understand this as well as to make sure that while we observe the other, we look at ourselves in the mirror. And this could be the key conclusion of a comprehensive study by prof. dr. Ibrahim Kalin I, the other and the other world that has been offered to readers in Bosnia and Herzegovina in Bosnian language in excellent translation by dr. Avdo Salkanović. In spite of all means of communication, numerous travels and global mutual introductions, the West still sees the African, Chinese or Latin-American and Muslims as primitive and therefore wants to exploit it, because modern science, archaeology and anthropology and psychology allow it - entirely based on the Eurocentric and racist concept. “Wars of peace' are wild”, Kipling said, and justifies everything as well as virtual wars. For the past 200 years, modern Muslims have seen themselves as peoples who once had a glorious culture that is in depression today. Therefore, they condemn modernization, they hate it, and they are not able to perceive the West in a comprehensive way.
