Summary/Abstract: The case of MH17 is an example of what Uku Arold, Estonian expert in strategic communications, calls the Russian information operations ‘data deluge method’. Russia has used this method of information warfare in other cases to overwhelm people with controversial and/or conflicting information. The purpose is to disorientate the target audience.
