Summary/Abstract: This paper reconstructs the process and describes the circumstances of the legal proceedings run by competent administrative and political bodies of the March of Istria in the period from 1898 to 1909 for the purpose of instituting the health resort in Lovran. This paper also emphasises the rich and insufficiently researched archival materials regarding Lovran in the State Archives in Rijeka and the State Archives in Trieste. We have therefore included the full transcript and Croatian translation from Italian of two archival sources attesting to the conclusion of the subject proceedings. The first is a law enacted on 10 December 1905 defining the basic regulations for health resort management in the Lovran health resort. The second is a Proclamation by the Imperial and Royal Province of the Austrian Littoral dated 16 March 1909 (no. IX-249/6) pertaining to the Health Resort Regulations for the Lovran health resort.
