Summary/Abstract: The votive procession by which ever since 1912 the memory has been restored of the miraculous halting of the epidemic of unknown disease by the intercession of St. Rocco, represents a valuable tradition that bears a part of the cultural and religious identity of Gradac and one of the few examples of intangible cultural heritage that has been preserved in this Dalmatian town for over a hundred years. However, except in the parish newspaper Lapčan and, incidentally in the works of rare authors (Cvitanović Dankić, 2005; Tomasović, 2007), this topic has unduly remained scientifically unaddressed. The aim of this work is to present, through accessible archival documentation and folk tradition, this centuries-old Catholic traditional heritage of Gradac.
