Summary/Abstract: Professionalism is relevant to explain the survival, growth and competitiveness of family businesses. In mexico, many of these companies have a fragile structure that prevents their growth, and risk putting their viability, such as in the village quality modern populations (pomoca) nacajuca municipality, state of tabasco, mexico. This paper aims to show the value of training and business professionalism to the success of organizations. The data collection was done through a likert scale questionnaire on 248 family businesses. Data were analyzed according to the following variables: experience and training, professionalization, and succession. The results show that in fact the success of companies is determined by the training of managers and business professional. Many managers do not have training according to business but tend directed training. Although managers are interested and believe that professionalization is beneficial to the company, there is no process of professionalization in companies of this community. In conclusion, it was observed that companies grow slowly due to the absence of a process of professionalization for the achievement of their goals.
