Summary/Abstract: Family businesses are an important factor affecting the implementation of economic growth. It is very important for economy to lead to their long–lasting survival. But to reach it the existence of entrepreneurial intention of family businesses’ successors is needed. There are three groups of factors that can influence it: internal feeling of person, closer and further environment. The aim of this article is to find determinants of entrepreneurial intentions of future successors of family businesses. This will be done by checking influence such factors as: individualism, the attitude toward entrepreneurship, and social welfare on the declared intentions of the entrepreneurial potential successors of family businesses and their peers, where families do not have entrepreneurs. It will be tested in a survey conducted in 2013 on a group of 887 Polish students of secondary schools. The data from linear regression from both groups next will be compared. On this basis it can be concluded that entrepreneurial intentions in both groups affected by the same factors (individualism and the attitude toward entrepreneurship). However, their impact on potential successors is stronger. Also, the level of the declared entrepreneurial intentions in this group is higher.
