Summary/Abstract: Corporate social responsibility is one of the concepts becoming more and more common among Polish entrepreneurs, in which environmental protection is one of the major pillars. Focusing on increasing corporate responsibility for the environment, also by family–owned businesses, should be in the present social, economic, political and legal climate one of the components of company strategies. Undoubtedly, it requires not only incurring financial expenses, investments (in human capital, infrastructure, and technologies), but it brings a number of notable benefits. One of the fundamental ones is improving competitiveness in the market. Moreover, it requires hiring ecologically qualified personnel. The main objective of this article is to describe possible pro–ecological behaviour at family–owned businesses.
