Summary/Abstract: The article presents suggestions of solving one of the major problems of modern logistics which is optimisation of supply volume based on reduction of supply costs. The case study concerns weekly supply of roughening material used for winter maintenance of a motorway part. Due to the physical-chemical qualities of the material and the supply possibilities orders are completed with the application of the single-stage (single, one-stage) of supply controlling. The suggested solutions with the application of the marginal analysis should lead to a significant reduction in costs of creating and maintaining stocks of these materials, as well as avoid high losses of logistical processes malfunction.
