Summary/Abstract: The aim of the paper is to provide some insight into the role of IT in hunting sector of economy. The paper encompasses the analysis of national and international literature on the subject-matter including the environmental conditions as well as hunting models. Discussing the issue, it seems essential to analyse the possibility of the application of IT solutions and tools in hunting sector (an example illustrating the potential field where such solutions may be applied has been described). The research method is mainly the analysis of pertinent literature. The research hypothesis has been put forward that the application of IT in hunting sector may affect the efficiency of activities undertaken in the field. Having carried out the analysis of literature as well as the case study, the author has reached the conclusion that the IT solutions enhance efficiency of activities in that sector – of course limited solely to the selected aspect of hunting-related economic activities. The author has based his work on selected articles and books and therefore the obtained results are in a way of tentative nature. Due to the fact that only one practical aspect has been presented the author may verify the hypothesis put forward in this respect but on the other hand may not enable to generalize it into the whole hunting sector. Consequently, the research should be continued in order to analyse the possibility of applying IT solutions in other fields of hunting sector.
